# How to Stock an Office With Good Tea: Hot Water, Teas and a Tidy Tea Station

Josh Caliguire · Oct 21, 2026

![Kitchen counter tea station with a kettle and tea supplies](https://res.cloudinary.com/cekiuehr/image/upload/c_fill,ar_16:9,g_auto,w_1200/f_auto,q_auto/blog/office-tea/office-kitchen-counter-tea-station)

*I research and test everything I recommend. As an Amazon Associate, I earn a small commission on purchases through my links. Your price stays the same, and I get to keep my own office tea drawer full. Win-win.*

**The short answer on tea for the office:** get the hot water right first, then stock a small, smart mix of herbal and black teas, and keep it all in a display people can see. If your team cares about tea, add loose leaf brewed in French presses. That's it. A good office tea station costs less than one catered lunch a month, and people use it every day.

Here's how I'd set one up, from the hot water to the exact teas.

## Start With Hot Water: a Boiling Water Tap

[![InSinkErator HOT150 instant hot water dispenser tap and tank](https://res.cloudinary.com/cekiuehr/image/upload/c_pad,b_white,w_840,h_840/f_auto,q_auto/products/insinkerator-hot150-office-hot-water-tap)](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LR7AJOQ?tag=joshcaliguire-20)

**The best upgrade for any office kitchen is an instant hot water tap.** A small tank under the sink keeps water near boiling, and a second faucet by the sink pours it on demand. No line at the kettle, no empty kettle left for the next person, and no one waiting four minutes between meetings.

The [InSinkErator HOT150](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LR7AJOQ?tag=joshcaliguire-20) is the standard pick: about 60 cups an hour, adjustable temperature, and a slim faucet that fits next to the main tap. It needs an outlet under the sink and a free hole in the sink or counter, so loop in your landlord or facilities person first.

**Price range:** about $225 to $275. [Check for current prices](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LR7AJOQ?tag=joshcaliguire-20).

## No Tap? Get a Zojirushi Water Boiler

[![Zojirushi CD-LFC40 4 liter water boiler and warmer](https://res.cloudinary.com/cekiuehr/image/upload/c_pad,b_white,w_840,h_840/f_auto,q_auto/products/zojirushi-cd-lfc40-water-boiler-4l)](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0166OD5M8?tag=joshcaliguire-20)

If you rent, or plumbing isn't an option, a countertop water boiler is the next best thing. I've used Zojirushi water boilers a lot, and they're built for exactly this: the [Zojirushi CD-LFC40](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0166OD5M8?tag=joshcaliguire-20) holds 4 liters (about 16 mugs) and keeps it hot all day at your choice of 160, 175, 195 or 208°F. That means green tea drinkers get the right temperature too.

Push the button, fill your mug, done. It plugs into any outlet. More options in [Blog: Best Water Boiler for Tea in 2026: Hot Water on Tap for Gong Fu Cha, Green Tea and Hosting](https://www.joshcaliguire.com/blog/best-water-boiler-for-tea?hsLang=en).

**Price range:** about $160 to $200. [Check for current prices](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0166OD5M8?tag=joshcaliguire-20).

## Small Office? A Big Breville Kettle

[![Breville IQ Kettle BKE820XL 1.7 liter](https://res.cloudinary.com/cekiuehr/image/upload/c_pad,b_white,w_840,h_840/f_auto,q_auto/products/breville-iq-kettle-bke820xl)](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001DYERBK?tag=joshcaliguire-20)

For a team of 10 or fewer, a large electric kettle works fine. The [Breville IQ Kettle](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001DYERBK?tag=joshcaliguire-20) boils 1.7 liters (about 7 cups) per fill, has five temperature settings for different teas, and a keep-warm mode for the 3 PM rush. It's the biggest kettle Breville makes, so a larger office should go with the tap or the Zojirushi.

**Price range:** about $175 to $200. [Check for current prices](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001DYERBK?tag=joshcaliguire-20).

## The Herbal Teas to Stock

![Traditional Medicinals organic herbal tea variety, six calming flavors](https://res.cloudinary.com/cekiuehr/image/upload/c_pad,b_white,w_1200,h_800/f_auto,q_auto/products/traditional-medicinals-six-calming-flavors)

Herbal teas are what most office tea drinkers reach for after lunch. They're caffeine-free, so they work all day. I'd keep two brands:

**Celestial Seasonings.** Familiar, friendly flavors almost everyone likes. The [Celestial herbal sampler, 3-pack](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C4L1X33Z?tag=joshcaliguire-20) is an easy way to stock a variety (chamomile, peppermint, fruit blends) and see what disappears first.

**Traditional Medicinals.** Organic, a step up in quality, and great for the "I have a headache" or "my throat hurts" crowd. Start with the [six calming flavors variety pack](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09CFTK4SQ?tag=joshcaliguire-20), and add the [Seasonal Care pack](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LWUCUNM?tag=joshcaliguire-20) with Throat Coat and Echinacea Plus from October through March. It's the most thoughtful thing you can put in an office kitchen in cold season.

## The Black Tea Bags People Actually Drink

![Yorkshire Tea Gold black tea bags](https://res.cloudinary.com/cekiuehr/image/upload/c_pad,b_white,w_1200,h_700/f_auto,q_auto/blog/black-tea-yorkshire-gold.jpg)

For the morning crowd, skip the generic bulk box and stock a couple of the black teas from my [Blog: Best Black Tea Bags on Amazon: 13 English Breakfast and Earl Grey Picks](https://www.joshcaliguire.com/blog/best-black-tea-bags-on-amazon-13-english-breakfast-and-earl-grey-picks?hsLang=en). These six cover an office:

- [Yorkshire Tea Gold](https://link.amazon/B03BX679N): the strongest, fullest cup on my list; the one I'd stock first.
- [PG Tips](https://link.amazon/B0aqpdEDs): pyramid bags, smooth and cheap per cup.
- [Twinings English Breakfast, individually wrapped](https://link.amazon/B02Abob1T): wrapped bags stay fresh in an open display.
- [Twinings Earl Grey](https://link.amazon/B03ZKoHaI): the Earl Grey most people already know and like.
- [Dilmah Earl Grey](https://link.amazon/B0fWDSxgb): a brighter Ceylon Earl Grey for a step up.
- [Harney & Sons Earl Grey Supreme](https://link.amazon/B08KfcoDa): silky sachets for the client-meeting tray.

One strong breakfast tea, one Earl Grey, and one "nice" option for guests covers almost everyone.

## Loose Leaf Tea at the Office (Without the Mess)

![Bodum Chambord 34 ounce French press for brewing loose leaf tea](https://res.cloudinary.com/cekiuehr/image/upload/c_pad,b_white,w_1200,h_800/f_auto,q_auto/products/bodum-chambord-34oz-french-press)

**Loose leaf tea tastes better than bags**, and it's often cheaper per cup. Whole leaves have more flavor and less dust, and you skip the paper and string. The catch is cleanup: wet leaves in the sink, strainers nobody washes, and little piles of tea next to the kettle.

**The fix is a French press.** Add the leaves, pour hot water, wait, press, pour. The leaves stay trapped at the bottom, and cleanup is one dump into the compost or trash and a quick rinse. A [Bodum Chambord 34 oz](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00008XEWG?tag=joshcaliguire-20) makes about four mugs at a time, looks great on a counter, and makes tea something the team shares.

Keep two presses: one for black tea in the morning, one for herbal or green after lunch. Use about 1 teaspoon of leaves per mug. If you're picking teas, [Blog: my loose leaf sampler picks](https://www.joshcaliguire.com/blog/best-loose-leaf-tea-samplers?hsLang=en) are a good way to try a few before buying bulk, and [Blog: Best Tea Storage](https://www.joshcaliguire.com/blog/tea-storage?hsLang=en) covers how to keep loose leaf fresh in a shared kitchen.

## Tea Display Cases for the Office Kitchen

![Clear acrylic tea bag organizer with 12 compartments](https://res.cloudinary.com/cekiuehr/image/upload/c_pad,b_white,w_1200,h_800/f_auto,q_auto/products/acrylic-tea-bag-organizer-216-packets)

A good display does two things: people can see their options at a glance, and it's obvious when something runs low. Four that work in an office:

### Budget: Mind Reader Tea Station

[![Mind Reader tea bag organizer tea station](https://res.cloudinary.com/cekiuehr/image/upload/c_pad,b_white,w_840,h_840/f_auto,q_auto/products/mind-reader-tea-bag-organizer-tea-station)](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XBLGQDK?tag=joshcaliguire-20)

Tiered bins plus drawers for sugar packets and stirrers. Plain, sturdy, and very popular for break rooms. [Check price on Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XBLGQDK?tag=joshcaliguire-20).

### See-Through: Acrylic 216-Bag Organizer

[![Clear acrylic tea bag organizer for 216 tea bags](https://res.cloudinary.com/cekiuehr/image/upload/c_pad,b_white,w_840,h_840/f_auto,q_auto/products/acrylic-tea-bag-organizer-216-packets)](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CX513NQ6?tag=joshcaliguire-20)

Twelve clear compartments that hold about 18 bags each. Easiest to restock, and the boxes' colors make the counter look cheerful. [Check price on Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CX513NQ6?tag=joshcaliguire-20).

### Warm and Natural: Bamboo Stacking Organizer

[![3-layer stackable bamboo tea bag organizer](https://res.cloudinary.com/cekiuehr/image/upload/c_pad,b_white,w_840,h_840/f_auto,q_auto/products/bamboo-3-layer-stackable-tea-bag-organizer)](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09WN3RFQZ?tag=joshcaliguire-20)

Three stacked bamboo tiers with removable dividers, holding about 260 bags. It looks more like a café than a supply closet. [Check price on Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09WN3RFQZ?tag=joshcaliguire-20).

### Client-Facing: Apace Wooden Tea Box

[![Apace luxury wooden tea box with a clear lid](https://res.cloudinary.com/cekiuehr/image/upload/c_pad,b_white,w_840,h_840/f_auto,q_auto/products/apace-luxury-wooden-tea-box-organizer)](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HGDHJ2T?tag=joshcaliguire-20)

A handsome wooden chest with a clear lid, for the conference room or front desk. Fill it with the nicer sachets. [Check price on Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HGDHJ2T?tag=joshcaliguire-20).

## A Simple Office Tea Shopping List

![A modern office kitchen ready for a tea station](https://res.cloudinary.com/cekiuehr/image/upload/c_fill,ar_3:2,g_auto,w_1200/f_auto,q_auto/blog/office-tea/modern-office-kitchen)

- **Hot water:** instant hot water tap, or a Zojirushi water boiler, or a Breville IQ Kettle for a small team.
- **Herbal:** Celestial sampler plus Traditional Medicinals (add Seasonal Care in winter).
- **Black:** Yorkshire Gold or PG Tips, Twinings Earl Grey, and one premium option.
- **Loose leaf (optional):** two French presses and one or two good teas.
- **Display:** one organizer sized to your team, plus honey, lemon and milk in the fridge.

If you work from home or want a desk setup of your own, see [Blog: The Best Tea for Work (And How to Set Up Your Desk for It)](https://www.joshcaliguire.com/blog/the-best-tea-for-work-and-how-to-set-up-your-desk-for-it?hsLang=en). And if your office is big enough to brew by the gallon, [Blog: Commercial Tea Brewers: How to Choose One for Making Tea at Scale](https://www.joshcaliguire.com/blog/commercial-tea-brewer?hsLang=en) is the next step.

**Homework:** walk past your office kitchen today and count the tea options. If the answer is "one dusty box," you know what to do.
